Steve Snoddon – Uxbridge

Steve Snoddon Mini Forest at Ewen Trail

Little Forests Durham is proud to be supporting the newest mini-forest in Uxbridge at 57 Elgin Park Drive. Established in honour of the late Steve Snoddon, an avid community volunteer and passionate resident who dedicated many years of service on Township of Uxbridge committees and community-based organizations.

Before
On Saturday June 13, 2026, volunteers helped out at the site prep with excellent support from so many community groups!
Volunteers first laid down cardboard across the 200 square metre site. The cardboard was then wetted down by the Uxbridge Fire Department, and compost and mulch were added on top.
These materials will be left to settle over the next few months for the grass and weeds to die back and to allow the cardboard, compost, and mulch to decompose, creating a nutrient-rich site for the tree planting event in the fall.
Tree planting of the Steve Snoddon mini-forest will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2026 at 9am. 800 native trees and shrubs will be planted on the prepared site.

We are grateful for the generous in-kind donation of project materials from The Region of Durham, UTS Tree Care, and The Uxbridge Hospital Auxiliary. This project was made possible by the financial support of Trees for Life and The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority.
